If you’re renovating your home and you’ve got a cat on the way then it is a great idea to keep the cat in mind when choosing the flooring, you want it to be as comfortable for the cat and as effortless as possible for you.
When getting a cat, you want scratch-resistant and easy to clean flooring and the best flooring for this is laminate, any muddy paws or accidents are easily cleaned given that it is flat and waterproof. This is brilliant for cats as they have sharp claws and it is likely that they will damage the floor if it is soft.
Carpet is sometimes not a great idea for cats given that they can often rip it, or worse, get their claws stuck in it either damaging the carpet or their claws. A short and not looped carpet may be suitable for cats nevertheless as it supplies a soft landing for them when playing around as we know cats love to do.
Vinyl flooring is also a go-to when getting a cat given that, similarly to laminate, it is solid and easy to clean. It is resistant to scratches and it is not very expensive at all.
